The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 39-year old motorcycle parts dealer, Ogbodo Chibuzor David for trying to smuggle 11.06kg of dried weeds that tested positive for cannabis to China.

The suspect who concealed the drugs in various food items was arrested following the discovery of cannabis inside his bags at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos when he was about to board a Qatar Airline flight.

Leader of Niger-Delta Peoples Volunteers Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujahid‎ Dokubo-Asari, has lambasted President Goodluck Jonathan for allegedly placing more value on the life of former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) than other Nigerians.

Dokunbo-Asari was reacting to President Jonathan’s statement in which he said Nigeria would have boiled had Gen. Buhari died in a recent bomb attack in Kaduna. Saying that such comment was uncalled for, the ex-militant leader also rejected insinuations that he paid the mastermind of the blast N5m. According to reports from Nation, the ex-militant also denied working for President Jonathan. Dokunbo-Asari said that the insinuation was meant to tarnish his image as a way of shutting him out of 2015 electioneering process. Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, he insisted his stance that General Buhari has no good intentions for Nigeria as a result of the support he (Buhari) gets from foreign leaders and organizations aiming to destabilize the country. “I do not work for Jonathan. A 35-year-old man, Yinka Offehin, is battling for his life at a private hospital in Lagos State after his scrotum was cut by the children of his landlady.

The Edo State indigene, who resides on Popoola Street, off Abaranje Road in the Ikotun area of Lagos, was said to have been attacked while sleeping in his room with his family members.

His wife, Bisi, who was with him when the incident happened, identified the assailants as Solomon and Damilola, the children of the landlady.
She said, “On Thursday morning, around 3am, while we were sleeping, we heard loud bangs on our door. We initially thought they were armed robbers because the house beside ours had recently been robbed.“When they entered, we saw they were children of our landlady. They began destroying our electronics and other property.

PLAINVIEW, TX – A 13-year-old boy was suspended from school after he was caught reading the Bible during recess. Plainview Middle School says Joshua Patterson violated school policy by reading the Bible in school.
School officials say the student was warned several times that he could not practice religion during school hours, but refused to comply. A letter was sent home to the child’s parents warning them that Joshua could be suspended or even expelled if he continued this behavior.
Patterson’s parents, who are devout Christians, told their son to continue reading his Bible because it was his Constitutional right. Megan and Daniel Patterson say they intend to file a lawsuit against Plainview Middle School.

According to reports, the architect who designed the restaurant area in the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin thought the toilets should be placed next to the floor-to-ceiling windows, despite the building being only ten storeys tall.

Nigeria now has a new Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba [DETAILS]

Following the federal Executive Council meeting presided by President Goodluck Jonathan, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 7, Suleiman Abba, has been appointed as the new Inspector General of Police in Nigeria.
Abba who was the former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to Maryam Abacha, replaces Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar after the latter attained the mandatory 35 years in service.
MD Abubakar became Inspector General of Police on January 25, 2012 and retires from the Police force, tomorrow, 31 July.

Why We Have Not Impeached President Jonathan –– Senator

The senator representing Edo North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Domingo Obende, has said the senate jettisoned impeachment moves against President Goodluck Jonathan in the interest of stability.
Domingo, who spoke to newsmen at his country home, Igarra in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, decried the use of power by the PDP-controlled Federal Government to intimidate the opposition.
The senator said that the red chamber decided to stop plans to impeach the President, who had “committed an impeachable offence,” in order to avoid national crisis.
In the words of the Senator: “What are we even talking about? Who is saying that the President himself has not committed an impeachable offence?

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected fraudsters identified as Kola Osho, Oyedepo Adesola and Kola Ademola, who allegedly specialize in withdrawing money from people’s bank accounts using dud cheques.

According to Punch, the police said the suspects usually obtained the cheques from people who are experts in stealing cheque books from unsuspecting people, then they will present the cheques to their insider in the bank, who will dubiously verify the account holder and the signature before the money could be paid out. The Sierra Leonean doctor who treated more than 100 Ebola patients has also died. Dr Sheik Umar Khan (pictured above), who was hailed as a national hero for disregarding his own health and helping sick patients, died today July 29th from the disease after being diagnosed with the virus last week. He contacted the virus despite wearing protective gear when treating patients.

Priest Says Devil Sent Abusive Text Messages To Him

A Polish priest who carried out an exorcism on a teenage girl says he is getting abusive text messages — from the devil.

“The author of these texts is an evil spirit who has possessed her soul,” he told the Austrian Times . “Often the owners of mobile phones are not even aware that they are being used like this. However, in this case it is clear.”
In one of the texts the devil apparently told Father Rajchel that he was wasting his time trying to save the teenager.
“She will not come out of this hell. She’s mine. Anyone who prays for her will die,” the devil said.
After Father Rajchel replied, the devil then turned on him, getting particularly nasty and personal with the priest.
“Shut up, preacher. You cannot save yourself. Idiot. You pathetic old preacher,” he said.
Father Rajchel said “clearly this young girl has been possessed and needs further help.”

I am still very weak. I was at the clinic and the doctor revealed that, even if I have the money readily available, I can’t undergo the surgery now because I have lost so much blood. So, I was given some drugs to help boost the blood back to the level it should be.

Recently it seems Boko Haram has changed their modus operandi and now use female suicide bombers. On Monday,two struck in Kano..Oby Ezekwesili of #bringbackourgirls campaign raised an alarm on twitter that the Chibok girls may be the ones now carrying out suicide bombing..She wrote on twitter
“It feels like eternity since April 14 when our girls lost their freedom. How can we move on like that? This new trend and serial pattern of female suicide bombers surely should particularly worry us.
“Female suicide bombers are again and again becoming the trend and our Chibok girls are still in the enemy’s den. It worries me stiff. Are we thinking? Our Chibok girlsreally need to be rescued from the clutches of evil.

Pandemonium broke out in the Asipa community as an apprentice bricklayer, identified as Rasheed Sulaiman, was shot dead while testing the potency of a bullet-proof charm given to him by a herbalist.

A resident of Asipa, a community in the Ife North Local Government Area, told PUNCH Metro that Sulaiman, on Saturday called his cousin, Siji, to follow him to a secluded place to test the charm. Sulaiman wore the amulet and gave a gun to his cousin to fire at him. The cousin fired the shot and killed Sulaiman instantly.

Sprinter Blessing Okagbare just won Gold in the Women's 100m for Nigeria in the Commonwealth Games. A 13-year-old Texas girl, Ariel Tolfree was recently awoken by a smoldering
Samsung cell phone under her pillow. She placed her Samsung Galaxy S4 under
her pillow as she fell asleep. Later that night, she smelled something burning.
“I didn’t think much of it, so I went back to sleep and then I woke up again and it was more prominent,” Tolfree said.

Tolfree’s dad believes the phone overheated, causing the battery to swell and ignite a small fire.
Reacting to the report, the cell phone manufacturer says she did something they warn users about, never put your phone in a place where it might not get enough air!
In another development, Kent's Holly Hewett, 25, plugged her phone in to charge while she slept, but she was later woken up by a sizzling sound and the smell of burning. Smoke rose from her Samsung Galaxy S4 and it burned her carpet. She is now warning others not to charge their smartphones overnight.

A nine-year-old child, identified simply as Riliwan, fell into a soak-away at Apata Street, Somolu area of Lagos and died on Thursday morning.
Riliwan, a primary six pupil of a primary school in the area, was to attend his graduation ceremony that morning where he was billed to be given prizes for coming first in his class, when tragedy struck.
He fell into the soak-away while trying pour away a bowl of dirty water that his parents had used in rinsing their hands after eating Sahur (Ramadan pre-dawn meal).

A Chinese man who rushed to the hospital because he was experiencing stomach aches and blood in his urine was stunned to discover that he was a woman on his period.
