The management of Christ Gospel Apostolic Church located at Egbeda where a 2-year old baby girl was allegedly buried alive have reacted to the report published by P.M.NEWS yesterday.
They refuted the claims by the residents that the baby that was buried in their church was buried alive. They said the baby had died before she was buried, adding that it was the child of a member of the church.
Officials of the church told P.M.NEWS this morning that they only invited the reporter to see for himself that the church was not closed down.
“You can see that the church was not closed despite the problem with the police,” a top member of the church said.
They told P.M.NEWS that they will not say anything further concerning the matter in order not to jeopardise the police investigation.
They asked the reporter to seek further information on the matter at SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos. Sources said the parents of the child are in police custody while the pastor of the church, Dare Ogunloye, who was earlier arrested by the police, has been released.
